My husband and I babysat Gabs and her siblings last weekend. Gabs was very generous in sharing her remaining Halloween candy... but getting to her remaining candy was an adventure...
1) climb onto chair
2) climb from chair to barstool
3) climb from barstool onto bar/counter
4) stand up on counter
5) reach up to the top of the fridge to reach the bag of candy
Here's the latest report from my sister (Gabs' mother):
Just made Gabs a hot dog for lunch ...
"Mom, what are hot dogs made from?" she asked.
"Cows" I replied (not wanting to tell her about all the leftover parts of animals.)
She looked a little shocked and sad and said "But cows are nice and you like cows."
"I know" I said, "and that's what steak is too and you like steak." and she continued to say
"I bet they make it out of the mean cows and some cows can be really mean. And they're really good at wrestling."
"Yeah they are" I said.
In all of my 41 years I've never seen a cow wrestle. If it makes her feel better that she is eating a really mean cow that wrestles... who am I to argue.
She's sooo funny.
{I'm just picturing those mean, wrestling cows...}
Gabby: Aunt Kate, when are you gonna fall in love?
Aunt Kate: Oh gosh, I wish I knew!
Gabby: Well, will you tell me when you do?
Aunt Kate: Sure! You'll be the first to know.
Aunt Kate, reporting on another great "Gab-ism" . . .
Saturday morning, in the car with Gabby . .
Gabby: Aunt Kate, do you have the radio?
Aunt Kate: Sure do! [turns on radio]
Gabby: Do you know Kiss 108?
Aunt Kate: Yes, but are you allowed to listen to that station?
Gabby: Oh yeah! I've been listening to it since I was like 2 or 3.
"If I was a frog I would only eat bagels!" ... and when she was asked why, her thought process went something like: frogs eat bugs.. and I really don't like bugs... and bugs have blood... and I really don't like blood... so..."If I was a frog I would only eat bagels!"
As reported by my sister: When we passed the prison, Gabs said "Good thing Daddy's not in there." ....said in a typical Gabs style - as calm as can be in the back seat. All my sister could say was "Yeah, good thing."
